Welcome to the new Microsoft Internet Directory
Microsoft has upgraded the Microsoft Internet Directory to support MSN Messenger, an instant messaging program that tells you when your friends and family are online. People you add to your MSN Messenger contact list will appear as contacts in the Microsoft Internet Directory in NetMeeting. This contact list is a customized list created by you and replaces the Microsoft Internet Locator Service (ILS) server, such as ils1.microsoft.com and ils2.microsoft.com. You can delete the Microsoft ILS servers from your directory list by selecting the directory and then clicking the Delete button. You can still connect to other ILS servers on the Internet and use NetMeeting to call people listed in those directories. Other Internet directory services are located at:
With the new Microsoft Internet Directory, you can see if your contacts are online for instant communication using either MSN Messenger or NetMeeting. Also, you can now place a NetMeeting call to your Hotmail contacts directly from MSN Messenger. You already have MSN Messenger on your computer. If you haven't already done so, you can now add contacts to MSN Messenger. The contacts you add to MSN Messenger will be visible from the new Microsoft Internet Directory in NetMeeting. Once you have created your personalized contact list, the names you added will be visible in the Microsoft Internet Directory when you log on to MSN Messenger. If you are not logged on to MSN Messenger, you are prompted to log on. To call a Hotmail contact from NetMeeting
